Anchovy High School Alumni and Past students’ Association was born from the passion of individuals, who had a great desire for the growth of their Alma mater. The organization’s mission is to Reflect, Transform, and Motivate those in the school’s community. The organization aims to achieve unity amongst its Alumni and Faculty at its highest level. Camaraderie is the order of the era, and by accomplishing this milestone, Anchovy High School will become the premier high school it was intended to be.
The Anchovy Alumni and Past Students Association began operating as an official organization during the year 2019. The organization operates under Anchovy High School Past Students’ Association for the Jamaican Chapter, which is also registered with the Jamaican government. The Anchovy High School Alumni Association also operates as the international Chapter for all Alumni who resides overseas across the United States, Canada, UK, and other countries. The organization elected its first local executive team on November 8th, 2019, and its International team on February 2nd, 2020. Prior to the formalization of both leadership teams, Alumni served in various capacities as steering committee members driven by their passion for seeing Anchovy High School achieve its full potential. The Alumni Association is registered as a nonprofit organization in Delaware and a 501c (3) exempt organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
Its ethos is one organization in two locations. Since its inception, the organization has impacted the school community in many ways; by hosting its first historic Alumni Day, assisted in multiple projects ranging from tuition assistance, furniture drive, care baskets distribution, needs-based scholarships, among other noteworthy accomplishments. Most of all, the organization raised over JMD 1.4 Million to assist a current student who became seriously ill from an acute condition.Â
As the organization continues its journey to excellence through philanthropy and service, it continues to be true to its visions to Reflect, Transform, and Motivate. Alumni locally and internationally are implored to get on board and become a part of the process and history to advance this great and noble organization. Members are driven by their shared experiences of the legacy of Anchovy High School and are motivated to create social change to impact current and future scholars’ lives by paying it forward. The organization’s current members implore you to align with this vision and be a part of the change. Be a part of this great movement so that Anchovy High School can fulfill its aspiration to become a force to be reckoned with amongst its peers as the premier learning institution it intends to be.
